Milwaukee’s Finest to merge under Wisconsin’s Finest, Pilot Program set to launch in Madison

Wisconsin’s Finest will serve entire state with focus on the Milwaukee and Madison areas

MILWAUKEE – After eight years of empowering youth in Milwaukee County by providing an equal opportunity for financial assistance through scholarships, Milwaukee’s Finest Scholarship Foundation (MFSF) is thrilled to announce its decision to merge into an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Currently operating under the fiscal sponsorship of Lead2Change Inc., MFSF will soon operate under Wisconsin’s Finest Scholarship Initiative (WFSI).

“As we embark on this new chapter, I am so proud of the work our organization, donors, and volunteers have done in Milwaukee County,” said Jerel Ballard, Founder and President of Milwaukee’s Finest Scholarship Foundation. “Establishing Wisconsin’s Finest Scholarship Initiative as an independent non-profit allows us to deepen our impact. I’m equally excited to launch a new pilot program, Madison’s Finest Scholars, to support students in the vibrant city of Madison.”

Since its inception in 2016, MFSF has received national recognition from the National Scholarship Providers Association and has raised nearly $100,000 for merit and need-based scholarships. Under the new identity of Wisconsin’s Finest, the organization remains committed to its mission of fostering academic excellence. Milwaukee’s Finest will continue to operate normally under the merger, and the current scholarship cycle will not be affected.

Madison’s Finest Scholars, scheduled to launch in late fall 2024, will closely resemble the structure of Milwaukee’s Finest. By extending our support to the Madison area, the initiative aims to empower  students statewide who hope to pursue higher education and achieve their full potential.

The transition to Wisconsin’s Finest is underway and expected to conclude in time for the 2024-2025 scholarship cycles. More information will be made available at a later date. Please see our new logos below.
