Milwaukee’s Finest selects Paul Moga as 2025 Student Empowerment Award Recipient
MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee’s Finest Scholarship Foundation (MFSF) is proud to announce Paul Moga as the 2025 recipient of the Student Empowerment Award. This annual honor recognizes a Milwaukee County resident who has made a profound impact on students by helping them develop the academic and personal skills essential for success in higher education and life.
Paul Moga currently serves as a Coordinator for Milwaukee Public Schools’ Department of Black and Latino Male Achievement (BLMA). In this role, he collaborates with district and community-based staff to provide spaces, structures, and systems that support positive life outcomes for Black and Latino male students. Paul leads BLMA’s high school mentoring program, which hosts monthly intergenerational dialogues between dedicated staff, Milwaukee-area men, and students—fostering authentic relationships, cultural pride, and community-driven support.
With a career in education dating back to 1996, Paul has worn many hats—including secondary English teacher and Culturally Responsive Teacher Leader. Across every role, he has leveraged his deep interests in Black and Multicultural History, Hip-Hop, Restorative Practices, and Language Arts to design educational experiences that are relevant, empowering, and culturally responsive.
Paul's commitment extends beyond the classroom. His work champions school communities where authentic relationships and students' cultural identities are prioritized. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Paul enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, reading, writing, enjoying sports, cooking, and listening to Hip-Hop and jazz.
Paul Moga will be honored during the Milwaukee’s Finest Scholarship Awards at Milwaukee City Hall on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
